Vacuum Gauge red light
Not sure what this red light is for. I'm assuming it comes on at low vacuum. If any one has the sensor for this and how it would install on our trucks let me know. I have an open spot in my bezel and would like to use this instead of air pressure gauge. Also where in the vacuum system would I put a tee to make the gauge work. Thanks

Re: Vacuum Gauge red light
Yes--it comes on when you drop below about 15PSI. (which is frequently on my F500 when shifting at low RPM's)
too many Fords, no where near 'nuff time.
or, money.

He meant vacuum as measured in inches of mercury.

Re: Vacuum Gauge red light
I've only seen these on bigger trucks with remote mounted vacuum brake boosters. The low vacuum sensor should be installed in between the reservoir check valve and the vacuum storage tank. In other words you don't want it teed into the intake manifold side of the check valve or the gauge would go to zero as soon as you shut off the engine. That's a cool gauge. It brings back memories of when I was an 18 year old school bus mechanic working on 68 B-700's.

Re: Vacuum Gauge red light
Here's what I'm working on. Just thought if I have the gauges they might as well work.
