installing tach

Post by jimmy828 »

a couple of days ago i rigged up temporary oil, temp, volt gauges under the hood just so i could them close by when i start my engine for the cam break-in. The tack is mounted under there to . Question is, can i attach the red wire to one of the solenoid post. Instructions say that it needs to be on circuit that works only when key is on the ON position. Just trying not to have to run thru firewall . If not the solenoid, where under hood can i attach it to?

For testing/break-in purposes I don't see an issue with running the hot straight to the battery.

I thought about that but having a in-line fuse in the wire just in case.
