Alternator wiring help

Post by Flaco142 »

So just rebuilt a 240 from my newly acquired 68 f100 lwb and the previous owner had the alternator wired with the field wire grounded on the block. Is this correct or should it be on the ground terminal making the alternator 4 wires.
Ive been chewing up batteries trying to figure it is out.

My 68 with a 360 is also grounded to the block. No problems. I think that's how they came.
