Tearing into my dash on my 67 F100 (FMX trans) to try and tidy up all the loose wiring I have I found this plug...any idea what it's for?
at the end it's got 2 wires where one goes out into the fender and the other goes into the main bundle back into the dash.
As for the reverse lights, They WERE working, I had bridged the connection in the neutral safety switch to make sure they were and they were fine. So i put another switch in thinking that one was bad and still no dice activating them normally. The fuse in the box isn't blown so I'm wondering if there is an inline fuse somewhere that's not documented on the website's diagrams? All of my other lights work fine (although it doesn't seem I have emergency flashers.)

Nevermind about the plug...I just remembered this truck and an auxiliary fuel tank and this has got to be for that switch. I still don't understand why my neutral safety switch allows my truck to start but won't activate the reverse lights.

Yep, that's for the aux. tank switch.

Re: Mystery plug and disappearing/reappearing reverse lights.
I don't know why I didn't think about it before, but I ohms checked my neutral safety switch and it seems to be working fine. Although I have continuity between one of the orange wires and the black wire that's offset on the plug (the one that's female.) If that shouldn't be that way I'm having trouble because it seems all the wiring diagrams provided on here are for manual trans, I have an FMX and I'm confused as to where I start looking.
