1970 F-250 Crazy Electrical Issues

So I have a 1970 F-250 Camper Special Ranger and the turn signals and horn do not work. However, the horn does work when either the transmission is in 2nd gear or if the turn signal switch is engaged in the downward/left position so I have the horn disconnected at the horn under the hood. Also when the turn signal switch is engaged in either position the taillight cancel does work so I can technically signal manually if I have the brake petal depressed or the running lights on. Also the emergency flasher switch on the dash does not work. One thing I did notice is that the top fuse bracket in the fuse box inside the cab under the dash is missing one side of its fuse clamps. The wiring on this truck is a complete mess and I will work on cleaning it up what I can but I'm sure that a lot of it is necessary for the accessories that it has. Any suggestions on possible solutions would be helpful thanks.

This is a column-shift automatic? It sounds like several wires inside the steering column are damaged, and only work when the wiring gets moved around. You might want to disconnect your battery ground and start testing the wiring with a continuity tester.

My vote goes to the wires in the column need replaced. I had a 66 f250 that had six separate breaks between the column and the dash for the turn signal circuit. That took some time to figure out!
