My 1970 is missing the battery hold-down parts, as well as the correct battery cables.
I have come across several NOS and replacement hold-down set ups, but I have no idea what is correct. Is the hold-down just a handle shaped bracket and two j-bolts with wing-nuts? I have also found a couple different L brackets people claim to be correct for our trucks.
Also, is the battery grounded to the engine or the frame? Thanks.

Re: Correct Battery Components
Battery negative cable goes to engine block and there should be a smaller ground strap from the engine block to the firewall. Battery hold down is 2 threaded rods with j hooks on the end holding the handle looking bracket over the top of the battery. I think 70 was the year they switched from the rubber coated metal bracket to the plastic one.

Thanks for the help!
Has anyone used replica battery cables for Mustangs or Cougars in their trucks? I have seen a few out there, including Scott Drake.

Re: Correct Battery Components
Here's what I bought from Ebay if memory serves me right its from classic auto parts and was around $20 for tray and less than $10 for the handle. Looks to be an exact copy of mine 69 Model.
