Hi guys,
I've got a electrical problem that is keeping me guessing and i was looking for some direction.
vehicle: 69 250 camper special
inoperative: LR turn signal
inoperative: rear emergency lights
inoperative: brake lights
good: license plate lights
good: all front headlights
good: all front turn signal lights/emergency lights
good: dash indicator lights for turn signal/dash indicator for emergency lights
I have good illumination to the secondary filament on the tail lights that powers the turn signals and brake lights when applying manual power to #282 & #283 as well as #5 & #9. See the jpg/link below to see the electrical map. I circled wires i was referring to http://s3.postimg.org/opebzvboz/wiring_ ... _81_85.jpg
the applying manual power leads me to believe that the turn signal switch is bad. that being said, i don't know how long this problem has been going on and i'm wondering if this would have any effect on the rear emergency lights not working and the brake lights not working. or perhaps thats a secondary issue?
i'm not great at reading electrical mapping but i'm struggling to see where the connection for the turn signals and brake lights are in the sequence.

Re: Brake lights, rear hazards, and LR turn signal not working
My guess is turn signal switch also. The brake light power comes through that switch. And so does the hazard flasher power. Being that one side and only the rear isnt working properly. Contact isnt being properly made inside the switch. My little dakotadoes similar
I giggled the turn signal lever and both brakes lights will work most times. Other times it will change which side wont work. Jiggle yours and see if it changes anyrhing. Even for just a second.

Re: Brake lights, rear hazards, and LR turn signal not working
Problem is that there are a few variables
The steering was pulled and straightened when I had my alignment done last week. That same day I also pulled some of the trailer harness that was hacked in and also a trailer brake indicator under the dash. I didn't notice the problem until after this stuff was done.
Is there a possibility that the contact was pinched somehow when the steering wheel was straightened? Do you think the switch would need to be replaced or maybe just adjusted? I struggle with the idea of bolting a part on to verify when I'm not really sure if the tss is the problem with the harness being pulled at the same time. Especially when that part isn't cheap and is somewhat labor intensive.

Im not sure now. If you cant wiggle the tss and make it work. Then it may be in the wiring you removed.
