Hello all,
I have a 1969 F-250 Camper Special and for Christmas I got a new JVC radio. I was thinking about putting the radio in the glove box and putting the back speakers in the headliner and using the stock speaker as the front speaker. Any suggestions on the placement of either the radio or the speakers or both? Also, if possible pictures would be great!
Thanks

Re: Radio/Speaker placement suggestions
If you want to use the stock speaker as the front speaker, you will need to replace it with a dual voice coil type. You could also mount two 3 1/2" co-axials on a piece of Plexiglas, 1/4" MDF or sheet metal cut to fit the original dash speaker opening. The point is that you will need two separate Left & Right audio channels up front. You can't just wire both channels to a single regular speaker.
I hope this helps.

I did a homemade bracket under the dash with a homemade mount as well as a set of dual coil 6x9s in pods and a low profile 10" sub with an amp under the seat. Can't see anything, sounds great and didn't have to cut doors. Retrosound stereo was a cool touch too

Re: Radio/Speaker placement suggestions
I use my phone as my tunes in my '74 Dodge Dart. Picked up a cheap 20w amp off of Ebay and a RCA plugs/3.5 mm jack cable from Amazon. Plug in the phone and prop it on the ashtray. Instant tunes! Also downloaded an app and use it for a speedometer because my speedo cable broke. With a bluetooth mic, it even works as a hands free driving phone. Thinking about rigging up my 7" tablet in her. I also added Sunpro gauges in a home made bezel because none of the dash gauges suited my needs.

I wish I would have done a better job of catching more pics along the way but I never really think about it.
