Best way to get 12V to my ignition coil??
Want to eliminate/bypass my primary resistor wire to my coil. Points are long gone and the Ignitir Pertronix module I have works on the 9.5V that gets to the coil now, but I'll want a full 12V to upgrade to a Flame Thrower 3 billet distributor. With an Ignitor 3 module. I want 12V to coul with key on only (of course) without screwing anything up. Truck is my '67 F250 that is electrically stock.
1967 F250 66k original miles when bought in 2012. Original 352 bored and stroked (Oct 13) to 396 cid, Upgrades include Cam Motion solid cam and lifters, C8AE-H heads now flow 220 intake/163-170 exhaust w/o pipes. Current project is a C6 swap in place of the original FMX. 4:10 Dana 60. Truck Custom ordered by original owner in Dark Moss Green over Wimbledon White.

Re: Best way to get 12V to my ignition coil??
I use a relay to get the full 12volts from the battery to the coil. Tapped into the RUN position wire off the ignition switch for the trigger wire bypassing the resister wire. Also eliminates the need for the brown 12 volt bypass wire coming of the Starter Solenoid. Everything works as ford designed and now I'm not running ignition voltage through my ignition switch. The only downfall if I lose the relay I lose ignition I keep a spare in the glove box. Also I use the same relay for radio power that gives me two backups. I also run the original pertronix ignition have not had a problem going on two years.

Another option is to use Pertronix's relay. Don't know if it is a new product, but that is the approach I used. Easy install.
