I would like to convert my current instrument panel with idiot lights to the panel that has all gauges. I recently acquired the new panel, but I’m seeing in pictures that the plug for the circuit board for the all-instrument panel version looks different? Is that right?
If so, is the correct plug all I need? Can I just acquire the proper plug and fit all the wires from my old one into the new one or is it more involved than that?

Youll need the correct engine sensors and wiring them into the cluster. As well as the plug to fit that cluster

Thanks Fordman!
The plug I understand, and I see that there are sensors for lights and different sensors for gauges (didn't know that, but now I do!! ). But why do you need to wire them into the cluster itself? Not just into the new plug that plugs into the board? (and in case I am misunderstanding...when you say "cluster" I am thinking of the circuit board)
I'm sorry for all the questions!!

The wiring harnesses are different. The alternator harness is different. The sending units are different.
You're better off swapping complete dash loom and alternator/regulator loom than trying to splice and re-wire what is there.

Re: Idiot Lights to Gauges Conversion
When i said cluster i meant to go through the plug. Adding the cluster guages. Would be the same as adding seperate underdash guages.
