Folks,
Today I replaced my turn signals, both front and back with LEDs. I also replaced the turn blinker with a LED compatible electronic blinker. All of the external lights blink correctly, but when the parking/driving lights are on, the left indicator in the instrument cluster stays solidly on even when the blinker isn't blinking. Any thoughts on what might be going on?
I'm going to pick up an electronic flasher for the emergency circuit, since that isn't working properly now that the lighting load is lower.
Thanks,
Duane

Re: Weird behavior in the left turn indicator
My girlfriend pointed out last night that the driver side driving/parking light in the front is not illuminating. I'll take it apart and diagnose it today. that seems like a likely culprit.
Cheers,
Duane

Re: Weird behavior in the left turn indicator
Sounds like something in the left front that is causing parking light to feed back into the turn signal. This can happen with missing ground.

Re: Weird behavior in the left turn indicator
yep i had the same problem with intermittant ground in my light bucket. the screws were corroded holding the enclosure into the grille. since there is no auxillary ground it relies on clean screw threads.
cleaned them up and replaced with stainless screws and a dab of dielectric grease.
i like the LED idea, i've done it on all my motorcycles and need to do it on my truck. I've read that it can be worth several feet of stopping distance at highway speed, as the light illuminates instantly giving the idiot tailgaiting you extra time to slam on their brakes.
