4.6l swap in 67 F100

Post by 67myway »

I need help! I have a 67 f100 I swapped the front end over to the CV suspension and I got a 2000 CVPI with a 4.6 and stripped it completely I don't have the money to do a aftermarket plug and play type harness. I also want to use all factory interior so my questions are: Has anyone done this swap before on this site? using the factory harness from a CV? Would a F600 dash fit in my truck so I could put a tach rite into the instrument cluster for a clean factory look? and Is ther any write-ups out there for this swap? thanks!

My brother attempted this mod on his 59 f100 and got it about 75% done and then changed his mind because of all the wires and ripped it out and put in a 460 instead. But If I was you I would suggest using the steering column out of the car that way the harness is a little more simple to plug and play and just eliminate unneccessary portions of the harnesss such as heater, ac wires, etc.

Check this guys YouTube channel out:

You will have to search out his swap videos, but he did exactly what you are attempting to do.

My thought was to just use the engine bay harness and adapt to the stock f100 harness under the dash using the factory lighting and everything except for the stuff under the hood and thanks for the link I'm gonna check and see what I can find in his videos thanks for the replies

Yes, an F600 cluster will fit your dash opening. If you don't already have one, send a PM to 69Ford. He collects these clusters. He may be able to hook you up with one.
