out with the granatellis, in with the livewires from d.u.i.

Post by hedz »

i just ordered a set of livewires from d.u.i. which will arrive in the mail this week. i'll let everyone know how well they perform. the structural integrity of granatellis is worse than graphite wires. looking forward to some solid wires

i installed the livewires today. i ordered the blue ones. part number c9059 i believe. this is a HEI part. i could not find the part on DUIs website. i found it by emailing tech support asking if they had anything for my engine. i then called to order since i could not find it in their system. they were about $100. they are not exactly ford blue. the wires are encased in a mesh heat shielding which is very sturdy. the boots are extremely thick and sturdy. also another plus is each end of the wire is numbered. and even better the boots that engage the spark plug are angled boots which help keep the wires from smashing into each other. i easily slid my lava boot heat shields over the already shielded wires with a little bit of wiggling. my only complaint is i wish the wires were longer. half the wires were appropriate in length. the other half are too short for my liking. they are so short that i will not be using my decorative wire looms. i would also have difficulty trying to fasten 1 through 4 in one loom attached to the valve cover or 5 through 8 on the other. it is probably not possible due to the length. if DUI would make these shorter wires about 5 to 7 inches longer a piece this would get my vote as the best darn plug wires available.

as far as performance these wires are great. they are delivering a great spark!!! i couldn't be happier. i expect these wires to last atleast twice as long as the granatellis

BEWARE of granatelli. they are a scam.

i snapped a u joint and blew the fuel pump right after filling the tank to the top in the f250 at the same time so time to get back to work.
