What tools do you have at your disposal? DVOM? Test light? VAT-40?
One commonly overlooked item is the negative battery cable. One way to check that is to use a pair of jumper cables directly from the battery (use one cable) negative to the engine block and see if the lights and all other items start to get brighter when it's running.

Have you done any other work to your truck recently? Gauges, other wiring?

Check the condition of the wires going to and from the alternator. I had a problem where the v/r was putting out voltage but the alternator was never getting it. As a result it was not putting out any power.

Had the same issue in my 71 and my uncle, who is a postal mechanic, had an old diagram from his shop for the old Ford shop trucks. My voltage regulator had nothing in the top terminal slot and his diagram showed a jumped wire. We added a flat connector to the top slot on the regulator and then jumped it to the bottom connector wire with a short piece of wire. Problem solved.

Re: need help with charging issue
Yes I solved the charging issue. It was with the wiring on the voltage regulator. Somewhere along my trucks life someone had played with wires leading to it and didn't put them together correctly so after cutting the loom and tape fixed the wire. Its running like a champ again.
