need some some help 68 f100

Post by shibbby911 »

i drove my truck to the gas station today and on the way back it jus shut off all the sudden. then i had a buddy try to jump start me but as soon as we took the jumper cables off it would jus die.. then we could never get it started again after that.. could this be a bad generator? i did notice when we were messing with the truck and the idle would get low the alternator light would barely start to come on.

Sounds like a bad alternator. Have the alternator and battery checked. If they check good u may have a bad ground.

How hard is it to go from a generator to a alternator?

It is a fairly easy process. You can Google how to do it. You can buy new or get what you need off a donor vehicle.
