Ign switch
Finally got around to changing out the ignition switch on the 68. Took a few minutes and sure is nice not to have to jiggle the key around to fire er up.

Mine was kinda "loose" a while back. Not to the point of not working - Just kinda loose.
Then, while working on the emergency brake pedal, the dumb switch came apart. I wasn't touching or operating the switch. There wasn't even a key in it. The vibration from releasing the parking brake was just too much for it to stand, I guess. That's when the fun began. As in smoke. The part of the switch with the wires still attached managed to short itself (read: WELD ITSELF) to the underside of the dash.
Wasn't long after that I installed a circuit breaker in that line.
Then, while working on the emergency brake pedal, the dumb switch came apart. I wasn't touching or operating the switch. There wasn't even a key in it. Dave - That was the problem - The wire (black with yellow stripe) that ties to the + side of the solenoid and feeds the yellow wire going to the ignition switch is NOT fused. If your switch comes apart, as mine did, you could have a really good chance to lose your truck to a fire. Thus, the circuit breaker.
