Dash Wires

Post by Art Vandelay »

Could anyone tell me what these brown wires are for? My truck is a 1970 F100. Using a test light I found out the wires are hot when turning on the ignition switch.

Not sure what exactly I'm looking at. Are the wires hot when the ignition is in start position or run position. If the wire is only hot in the start position it may be the bypass wire to bypass the resistor wire. Runs a full 12 volts to the coil during startup. I believe this wire is brown. If anyone knows different please post.
