Seat fitment question...
I recently found a 1981 Mercury Cougar 4 door in a junk yard with really low miles. The seat was nice and I am curious what it would take to fit it to my 68 F100? It is the same basic car as a Fairmont and is on the Fox platform. Will this fit? How much work to get it to bolt in? Really ugly car, what was Ford thinking? Four door Cougar?

Nice looking seat. As with any seat made for a different vehicle, take a few measurements to make sure it physically fits, throw it in there and see what it takes to make it sit right. Should be a fairly simple swap.

Like has been said if it fits inside with the doors closed, and it sits to suit u. U can make it work. Do you weld? If not grab a drill and some bolts and install yourself a good looking seat.

With the drivers' side centered to the steering wheel, there's gonna be a big ol' gap between the passenger's seat and the door.

You might check the angle of seat back. I had a Mercury Zephyr of that era and recall like so many other 80's cars, the seat back angle was pretty relaxed. Too much recline for me.
