Hey guys. Got an issue. My ol 72 sat 2 years. horn rela went bad so i got a new one. now horns dont blow right. hit button and hear like hissing noise. finally one horn will sound like a dying cow. other just continues to hiss. What gives? You think theres hope to fix them or new horns?

Re: Stupid horns.
you can try to adjust them. i dont knwo that it will work but it might. there is a screw on the side of them. turn it just a little one way and see what happens. it can be turned two ways. and it adjusts the sound pitch. you can try tapping on them too. as they may be dirty. maybe a wasp built a nest in one of them. its hard to say.

Maybe ya got a mouse, or wasp nest in them, or maybe wrong relay, bad ground?

i dont know if they can be cleaned out . water in them might short them out. if it is mud dobbers. tapping will break up th emud. a mous eo rwasp nest would be harder to shake out of them. it may have rust in them from sitting.

Re: Stupid horns.
Like fordman said, make sure you have them getting a good 12v.Mine sat for 20years,nether one of them worked at first when I tried them. Took them off and hooked up to batt. charger in vice on the bench.Charger was at 10 amps and I beat the crap out of them.Low horn I got working, never got the high one to work.Had to go and find a new one.
