Hi Guys!
Ok I am working on a friends 72 F100 Sport Custom and just finished doing up the replacements of
the transmission mount, the rear pinion seal, and the axle pivot bushings along with the Kingpins
now am in process of replacing the 3 U Joints and the center carrier bearing ( thunk, clank, squeeeky ,squeeky ,squweeky ,weeky ,weeky ) Goll dam it now what
well the owner was over today and was curious to know if i could also install his stock Am Radio he found for it ? sure i can, but i dont know anything bout these radios or how they are supposed to be wired?
so i am hoping somebody out there know what goes where or has a good wiring diagram that i could use so i know what color wires i am looking for i dont even know if the original wire)s are even still there seeing as he bought this truck from another person a few years ago who had a camper shell on it along with trailer wiring and god knows what else
This radio has a single 2 wire trailer type plug coming out of it and it also has what appears to be a stud on the back for a ground wire maybe? i have the antenna lead and corresponding hole for it
now then where does the speaker lead connect to on radio? as i dont see the leads or where they come off the radio
any help is greatly appreciated
Thanx
Larry

Here's the diagram for the radio for the '72, and a link to the master wiring diagram.

Re: 72 F100 Radio wiring diagram/ hookup?
Thank you Mrollings53!
Now i can sorta see what i am looking for and where to look for it
got a clue as to where the speaker leads attach to the radio? As it appear that this radio was taken apart and fixed or modified in some way or it could be that the 2 pin trailer plug is the speaker lead? also the fuse connector comes out the side instead of of of the rear stud terminal on the back plate
guess i got to see if the other half of the fuse connector is in there some where i have the top of fuse holder that is attached to the radio
So let me get this straight, i hook up this radio by connecting single fused lead to a black power wire coming off of the ignition switch and the radio grounds itself through the mount bolts? If so ok seems easy enough to do. Guess i will find out in a day or two will let you know what all i find ...trouble ...or otherwise
stay tuned ......more questions to follow !
Thanx
