LED headlight install

Post by Lthlwpn »

On my quest to swap every single bulb on my 67 to leds, I finally got around to the headlights.
I found a good deal in the local online classifieds last Friday for a pair of brand new Truck-lite led headlights.
Right out of the box, you can tell these things are beefy, and can take a beating! The housings are die cast aluminum, completely sealed, and have standard three prong pigtail. The rear of the housing has cast labels for the wiring just in case you don't need the pigtail, and plan to wire them in to your own project.
They also have a three year warranty from Truck-lite.

Truck-lites write up on these lights:

These are a plug and play setup, and take the same amount of time to swap out as regular bulb.

One of the leds, and one Sylvania (didn't have the retainer ring on yet so the led slipped a bit sideways)

Just have to wait for it to get dark now to find out how well they really perform.

I'm on the same LED quest, with my headlights being the last filament bulbs left. Those Truck-lite LEDs are kick-azz, but GREAT Googa Mooga they're a little pricey! Have to put them on the "someday" list, but your install looks great.
Take care,
Joe
