Maybe this will pique someones interest, its got my brain all twisted up....
the right turn signal works perfectly fine
the left turn signal (when turned on) lights both front warning lights, the rear left marker, and the arrow on the dashboard, but no 'blinking' just constant on.
when the marker lights are turned on (headlight switch half out) the right marker light comes on, the left marker light is off, but the left turn signal arrow is lit on the dash.
this was all working good a couple days ago after changing bulbs, started acting up with no left turn signal so i crimped down the socket and cleaned the contacts, started working good again, then two days ago just started doing this.
i'll grab the wiring diagram and puzzle over it this weekend, just thought you guys might enjoy a little riddle... so weird

Re: Crazy turn signal/warning lamp riddle.
Sounds like you have feed back in the system.
Likely problems, include the poor quality of bulbs or a grounding problem. Check all the grounds. Then if needed substitute a known good bulb(s) for a none functioning one(s) (including the dash bulbs) to see if that will fix the problem.
When the turn signal switch fails, the blinkers do not work properly. The best cure is to replace the switch.
Since one side is working and the other isn't, the flasher probably is not at fault.

Re: Crazy turn signal/warning lamp riddle.
I'm wondering if the contact for the "Park" lights and the contact for the "Turn Signal" could be touching each other inside of the light socket?

Re: Crazy turn signal/warning lamp riddle.
My bet is a bad ground. I had a similar problem with the lights coming on when they weren't supposed to. On but dimmly lit. It was a bad ground wire behind the passenger side headlight bezel.

Re: Crazy turn signal/warning lamp riddle.
Yeah i'm leaning toward the ground thing, i took the headlight surrounds off right before this showed up and jiggled some stuff in there.
otherwise i tried messing with the bulb itself and it looked good, might be where the wires go into the back of the socket, they might be contacting the spring or each other in there, that would mean the park and turn are connected.
i've got to replace my turn signal cam also, so i'll check out the steering wheel guts while i'm at it.

Re: Crazy turn signal/warning lamp riddle.
solved the problem- ground issue. I brushed out the socket, pinched it down tighter, wiggled wires and gooped more dielectric grease on everything.
i think when i redo the headlight wiring for H4 lamps, i'll run a daisy chain ground to headlights, signals and back to my underhood electrical box.
