Gentlemen!
This is my first post on this site so bare with me. Last week I purchased a 1972 F100 2wd. I fell in love with the thing the first time I saw it, bought it a week later. I've been tinkering around with it here and there and have come across my first issue that I'm not too sure about.
So far, I have replaced all the bulbs, even replaced the socket in the front right turn signal. When I test the turn signals, the selected rear lights will flash indicating the turn however, the front ones will not. Bulbs work in the front and yes, they are the dual filament bulbs.
Why would the rear ones work and the front ones not work?
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Well, I had assumed that if the bulb was lighting up when they were lit in the running light mode (headlamps on) that would mean the ground is good? Am I mistaken?

Re: Front Turn Signals Won't Flash
The reason the rear flash and the front do not is probably due to the turn signal switch. The front lights work off a different set of contacts than the rear because your brake lights also go through the switch. Are you getting 12v on the front turn filament but no 12v pulse? Odd that they are both not working, but who knows...
Hope this helps... You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Front Turn Signals Won't Flash
First off, thank you both for your quick responses. I got up under the dash and wiggled around some of the wires, specifically, and I'm not sure if it's the turn signal switch, but the metal cylinder that makes the clicking sound for the turn signals. Right when I did that the turn indicator arrow lit up in the instrument panel and the front turn signals began to work.
Let's just hope it never becomes un-wiggled. Thanks!!

Re: Front Turn Signals Won't Flash
Glad you got it going. That metal cylinder is probably the flasher itself. Odd that the rears would work and not the fronts, they are both fed from the same wire... Probably a loose connection. You may want to get up under there again and make sure the plug is seated good and tight.
