Hey everyone I'm having a bit of trouble with my truck..
It was running fine about a few weeks ago and it took a dump on me.. for some reason its not getting voltage to the starter and the solenoid just clicks.. the starter doesn't even engage or spin. I've replaced both battery terminals and wires, new starter, solenoid, ignition switch, ignition coil, and distributor.. I really don't know what else to do and really don't have the money to keep putting into my truck.. its a 4 speed shift on the floor 6.4 liter .. I'd appreciate any good advice on how to get my truck rolling.
Thanks

Check ground on both the motor and the solenoid. Scuff up the fender wall with sand paper underneath where the solenoid mounts. Test the starter by removing the cable from the solenoid and touching it to the positive terminal on the battery. If it starts the problem is with the solenoid or the switch. Jump the solenoid by taking a screwdriver and bridging the positive battery terminal and the small terminal next to it. If it starts the problem is in the ignition switch and it's wiring.

Also closely inspect the wires attached to the battery side of the solenoid. I chased a gremlin for days and finally, after swapping in the 2nd solenoid, a wire fell out of it's ring terminal. It had been hanging on by a thread and finally broke loose. Crimped on a new ring terminal and she fired right up. Btw, solenoid's are notorious for being bad right out of the box.

All that cranking on a bad starter might have run your battery down. Has it been fully charged? My son had a Fox Body 5.0mustang with a slightly beefy cam. It always dragged when starting. Put a new 800 CCA battery in and she sang!

Re: 1969 ford f250
I have 12.6v then 10.5 when cranking. My batt is a 750 cca. But my 97 mustang gt fully built, has no problem cranking with a 600 cca batt.. Idk.. nd btw when I jump from my solenoid on the firewall, my Carb does a quick puff of air IR gas .. it shoots out of the top while no air cleaner is on.. let me know. Thanks.

Dragging on start and the carb thing sounds like your timing's a little off.
