Brake Light/ Clutch pedal

Post by david_taylor09 »

I just got a 72 f100 and i just noticed that when the clutch is depressed, the brake lights turn on... brake lights work and all but is this normal? Its only when the clutch pedal is about half way down and all the way to the floor. Im new to this forum and I didnt see any similar posts, so please help if you can!

:wel: from Georgia! Sounds like something may be binding or shorting out. The clutch/brake pedal assembly work on the same pivot shaft. Does your brake pedal move when you press your clutch pedal. Maybe they're binding and the brake pedal rotates just enough to release your brake light switch then breaks loose before it applies your brakes?
