1969 f250 camper special

Post by markuaw »

Ive got a 69 f250 camper special. All lights work except brake lights and turn signals. I replaced the turn signal switch tried finding the turn signal relay I cant find it but I did find a hanging wire that a relay plugs into but it changed nothing truck doesn't have an emergency flasher switch does it need this to complete the circut? I've ordered one but didn't know if there is anything else I could try while waiting in the switch.

The brake lights do not need to go through the emergency flasher switch in order to function. Do you have 12v at your brake switch?

Introduce yourself on the Welcome mat. Pictures are also great and always welcome.

On the brake light, check the switch on the brake pedal.

On the turn signals, the flasher should be in back on the instrument panel. Also, check all the bulbs for grounding. Verify that the wiring is correct for the turn signal switch.

There is a separate emergency flasher. This flasher should be attached to body. It is easier to remove the instrument panel to access. The emergency flasher switch may be in the glove box or on the dash.

Thanks guys. I pulled up schematics on this site. The wiring diagram says brake light fuse is 20amp my truck its 14amp. Couldn't get fuse from auto store but an old hardware store had one. Now I have brake lights but when I click the turn signal it shuts the light off. Checked another fuse and its bad also according to the wiring diagram it runs windshield washer and turn signals even though the amps are different im hoping changing this will fix my problem

The fuse box also tends to corrode. Unmount it and check it out.
