Performance Distributors/ Davis Unified Ignition HEI

Post by 67 Camper Special »

Have had it with the worn out distributor in my 460. Left me the other day with a load of stair parts in the back on the side of the road, rain coming. I did manage to get the parts where they needed to be before it rained, but it was close. I'm over points.......

I did a lot of reading and decided on a DUI HEI distributor. This truck is not original anyway, and the whole brand loyalty thing escapes me. None of the Ford Family have ever done anything for me. http://www.fordification.com/forum/imag ... rgreen.gif

I will post a review after I install it. One thing I like as I do not really have any time to waste is that they configure the dist to your motor before they send it out, and each one is tested. And its not from China.

I have been having computer issues so have not been back in a while. I installed the DUI with their 9 mm wires and offset base and gooseneck. Went well with no real issues, cleaned up some of the wireing and its back on the road.

It runs much better, starts well, and I saw a slight improvement in mileage, maybe a little better than one mpg.

In review so far it has been flawless, ran well out of the box and was shipped exactly when they told me it would be. With the huge red wires and red cap it looks cool.

One note. Go ahead and buy their billit wire looms if you buy their wires. They are huge and looms that size could not be found locally here. I need to order some.
