no brake lights

Post by 67lunargreen »

I do not have any brake lights. I had a broken wire to the terminal on the brake light switch. I replaced the fuse as well but still have no power to the switch. It is a 67 F-100. I repaired the wire connector. I don't know when it last had brake lights. It sat a long time and was only driven rarely to the dump. Noticed that the lights were not working when bleeding new brakes. Help!

Yeah I have all other lights. Turn signals work fine, reverse, tail lights, no brake lights. I found that I have no power to the little fuse in the middle of the fuse box. Not even with key on or off. I am studying the wiring diagrams trying to figure it out. I am going to have to give up on it tonight.

Help Please! There is a cruise Saturday! I understand that the little fuse doesn't get power until the lights are on. Still no luck on the wiring diagram. Going out to try to figure it out. Just got off work.

ok! I have brake lights. Not wired correctly but it works. I ran a wire from the accessory terminal on the fuse box to the switch. All lights function properly except no brake lights when the key is off. Still don't know why the wire that is supposed to go there has no power.

Have you tried swapping out the flasher relay?

That's what my problem turned out to be, but I had no lights working except the marker lights.
