I need a turn signal switch and found one in Pick-a-Part today, but it's a 66' F-100. Works well, it's all there, but will it fit my 72'?
I can see that the harness connector under the dash is different, but that's no problem as I can splice my old connector on.

No need to splice the connector. You can de-pin the old connectors by taking a small screwdriver and pressing the spring clip on the pin in, and then pushing the pin out the back of the connector. They also make a special tool that slips on the pin, and pushes the spring clip in. Then you pull the pin out like before. Here are some pictures of a couple tools.
