1970 F100-Reverse lights not working, what do i check?
it is a 1970 ford f100/ 360 / c6 auto/ sat untouched for 13 years and motor and trans was recently rebuilt. just messing around, trying to get things to work. have replaced bulbs to no avail, any help will be appreciated

You might check the neutral safety/reverse lights switch. It's on the steering column, just above the brake pedal.
Check the pin, it should slide L&R via the little arm thing.
Park in front on a glass door or have a helper watching, key on, slowly move the gear selector from park to neutral, they'll flash on if the switch is working.
There's a bit of adjustment on the switch, the mounting holes are slotted. Might be worth a try!
*edit*...Here's a photo of the switch on the column;

What have you done? Were the lights working before it sat?
1. Check bulbs and connections for continuity. Clean sockets of corrosion.
2. Switch should be on column. Check that it has not frozen (all gummed up) before replacing.

alrighty, thank you 72bahama the pic is very helpful and i will try that as soon as i can. And bluef250, i have replaced bulbs and checked with a test light and have got nothing to the bulb sockets. i really don't know if they were working or not before i got the truck
