Wire Harness

Post by danieltre »

Has anyone installed one of those universal kits from ezwiring.com? Turns out my facotry harness is worse than i expected and need to get it replaced. If i can find a clean donor truck i would rather go that route. i dont want to spend six to eight bills for a kit from painless.

I just bought the EZ harness. All the wires are clearly labeled. You'll need to either splice into your existing connecting sires or re-pin the wires to match your connectors because it comes with GM connections.

Daniel,

Does the truck run at all? Anything work? Lights, horn, instrument panel, etc? Keep us posted on your progress!

truck doesnt run at all. my cousin said he was the last one that started it, noticed it was running rough and was getting ready to get the carb rebuilt. that was maybe 15 years ago! LOL! this is going to be long term project for me. what i have done so far is get the motor and tranny loose so i can pull it out. if any one of yall can chime in, I noticed on the driver side there is a nut(used as spacer) between the block and perch. I do know they dropped a 302 in the truck so the motor is not the original. the VIN tells me there should of been a 390. Why would they put this "spacer"?
