As most of you know I have had a lot of electrical problems with my 70 F-350 since I bought it in Sept. I finally got the brake lights and turnsignals working good. The 4-ways used to work but after I got the turns and brake lights working the 4-ways stopped working. Perhaps I bumped something. Yesterday I started the truck and tried the 4-ways and they worked!. Today I moved the truck and cleaned off the 4 inches of snow we got and the 4-ways did not work.
Here is my thought: As I reported in an earlier thread I ran a separate wire for the brake lights and put up 2 new lights for the brakes. The existing lights I kept for turns and tail lights. The 4-ways when working use the original turn and tail lights. Would it work to run a new wire from the 4-way switch and splice that into the new wire I put in for the brake lights? This would be easier than trying to find where the loose wire or short is for the 4-ways with the existing wire. I am assuming the 4 ways would not work when the brake lights are on but I am OK with that if PA inspection is OK with it.
What do you think? Thanks!

Re: 4-ways don't work
I can't answer your question, but if the E. flasher was working before, sometimes just tapping the emergency flasher unit will get it working again. The emergency lights should stop flashing with the brake lights on, both l & r lamps in the cluster will be lit.
