I have a 27F battery in my truck, I am looking for one of the Autolite battery covers that fits over the top of the 27F battery. I can only find the covers for the 24F battery. Antique Auto Battery sells the reproduction sealed maintenance free version of the 27F but it is $260 plus $70 for shipping.... bringing the total to justa little bit more than I am willing to spend.
Any thoughts?

I've never seen one other than the 24F. I doubt they are made due to little demand

Re: Looking for the Autolite battery cover
Hope this helps. The English used below is a bit befuddling since it seems to suggest that the 24F cover can be modified to fit.
Here's the text from this page: http://www.429mustangcougarinfo.50megs. ... trical.htm
"For 1971, Ford offered both a Group 24 and a 27 battery, but the 429 Mustang/Cougar used only the 27F. A correct Autolite Group 27F Battery is shown above, as well as an installed view. The battery tray, hold down, and fender bracket are also shown above. For those wishing to buy the Autolite 24F Battery cover that fits over the top of a standard battery
, here are the dimensions of the battery you will need and the post hole locations for the cover to fit" (to fit a standard battery but what is a standard battery?)
