Need some help with ignition cylinder wiring sequence. Short version: my 1971 F250 Sport Custom was stolen last week and recovered yesterday It was hotwired so I disconnected the battery (dead), undid the hotwire, and removed the ignition cylinder to reattach the wires with .250 16-14 gauge female disconnects. Problem is I do not know the sequence/location each color goes to. I have attached pics. Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but here's mine from my '70.

Glad you got the truck back. I honestly don't see how anyone here could tell you which wire went where without those male terminals being labeled?
It would be much easier if you got the replacement harness end-then rewired it.

Ok, I wasn't aware that I needed a pigtail wire harness/plug/socket. Good to know since i'm learning about my truck on an as needed basis. I'll research getting a new one, connect the wires, and get it back on the road. Thanks for the help!
I've been calling auto parts stores and looking online but so far the sockets/plugs available have all black wires. So i'm back to the same problem, how do I know which of my colored wires goes to which connector? I haven't found any original used sockets/plugs with colored wires attached on eBay or elsewhere yet.

Sargenters pic is extremely helpful (Thanks! ), but I still have that one purple wire to figure out. Any ideas?
I just crawled out from under the dash of my 71. The purple wire goes onto the terminal, (in Randy's pic above) just above and to the left of the yellow-directly above the black wire. You can see in Randy's pic where there is what looks like a wire broken off or that there used to be one there, (existing spade terminal end).

Yeah, Jeff, I saw that when I pulled the wiring harness. What's it go to? I didn't see a purple wire on the master color code chart.

Not real sure Randy as i don't do under the dash for very long-very well anymore LOL! It's a small purple wire like Robo posted above, (maybe 16 gauge). I should also bookmark your picture, as I was trying to explain to someone here recently how the ignition bypass tied into the resistance wiring right at the switch-same terminal on the switch. It's clearly visible above.

Hey guys, so I ordered/received a new replacement switch connector/plug. As with every place I checked these new plugs have 6 seperate black wires that are all same gauge (maybe 18-22?) with gold female connectors. I assume the new wires are meant to joined with parallel/butt connectors to the old wires, but i'm concerned about safety with the different gauges of the yellow, black/green and pink wires. Also concerned because the pink and red/brown wires originally go into the same connector!
I found a pic of a '73 plug online F series plug online for the purple wire locations if it's any help. There's a purple wire visible.

Yeah i tried calling up the local salvage yards but none have that part. I need it running to move it by tomorrow. So I'm thinking either direct connecting the wires (without harness/plug) or pulling out the wires from the new plug and fitting it with proper gauge female connectors and the original wires (safer, more permanent). Then keep a lookout for an original plug with the wires. Any thoughts?
Well I was wrong about the dent's harness being the same! Here is the dent harness I pulled from my 79' F-100:
And the terminal end of the ignition switch from my 79' F-100:
The dent switch has nine terminals-the bump has I believe six terminals. I'd use the harness you got for an interim/short time till you could find a better solution. I'm still looking as i might have one here...

So, the modified (new switch plug with original wires/new connectors fitted to it) worked. Power to ignition, lights/turn signals/hazard, radio, fan, wipers. Heater/defroster doesn't work now and fuel is not getting to the filter/carb but I suspect these may be due to other issues. Thanks to everyone for all the pics and advice on my ignition problem!
I know much more than I did before.
