Changing Instrument Cluster "67 F-100
I am attempting to replace my existing 1967 F-100 instrument cluster that had "idiot lights" for alternator and oil with an instrument cluster that has the gauges for alternator and oil. Can anyone advise how to go about re-pinning the harness wiring connectors? Would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance. tripticker

To my knowledge, it's not that simple. I believe you have to add a shunt to the existing wiring in your truck as there was a difference in the wiring harness in our trucks from "idiot light" to "full gauge". Maybe someone else can pipe in here that knows a little more on the shunt.tripticker on Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:53 pm

Thanks for the prompt post to my issue. I should have known I was over simplifying the process. Hopefully, there is an answer. I'll keep searching.basketcase0302 wrote:To my knowledge, it's not that simple. Also....the year of the replacement cluster is extremely important. There are about three different designs if I remember right. The hard wired 67-69....the 70 printed circuit...and the 71-72 printed circuit if memory serves.
Find 'em....Buy 'em....Fix 'em.....Drive 'em....Love 'em
