burned out healight and turn signals

Turn signals quit working. Short time later during nite driving noticed the low beam on the drivers side was burned out. Replaced the headlight and the turn signals started working again. Looked at the wiring diagrams but still not sure if this was a coincidence or the burned out bulb was the cause. thanks
