Headlights not working???

Hi guys,
All lights are working EXCEPT headlights??????
Need some specific instructions on how to check this out and fix.1970 F-100 2WD automatic 360.

My mechanical skills are non-existent and my knowledge of electricals is somwhat lower.

Remove headlight bulb

Turn on headlights at the switch

Test for voltage at the socket.

Actuate the dimmer switch

Test for voltage at the socket.

report back for further assistance.

I went through this same problem a while back. Turned out to be the dimmer switch in my case. Had every other light on the truck working just no headlights.

1989 Chevy S-10 Tahoe ( It gets me to work and back and fetches parts and groceries)

1990 Ford F-150 ( Miss Yvonnes Daily Driver )

OK,I'm an idiot !! Turns out the body shop that did the paint job forgot to plug the headlights in when they put everything back together.

Of course I learned this AFTER replacing the dimmer and headlight switches !!

Never overlook the obvious.....

Oh man! That really bites. Since you didnt say there had been any paint work done recently I assumed it was just a new problem on a working truck. I apologize for possibly having caused any useless expense.
