Wiring harness and diagrams

Post by boid12003 »

I just recently (last night) picked up a very used '71 Ford F-100 4x4. I am going to need a huge amount of help from all the guru's here to put it up and running. My first task is apparently rewiring it completely. I am in search of where to find a reasonably priced either used or new(er) wiring harness and need a complete wiring diagram with fuse panels identification. I will obviously be plowing the junk yards, but hope to come up with some sources here for putting this back together. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site, wiring harnesses are pretty standardized from 1970 and up. Options plugged into the harnesses unlike the GM products over the years where the option included the harness. The F250's and 350's just had extra wiring harnesses that powered the extra lights. Same for the camper specials.

I would suggest posting a wanted ad for a complete wiring harness. Usually the rear frame is the hardest to find intact due to trailer wiring.
