Chevy to Ford wiring harness colors

Post by Eagle84 »

subject: Chevy wiring harness compatible with 72 F100 truck
Wiring harness: purchased a 12 circuit harness from Hot Rod Wires in Garland Texas

Opted to go with wiring harness from Hot Rod Wires based in Garland Texas for Chevy vs. Painless wiring set-up for Ford, saved about $300 on this purchase. My challenge is mapping wiring color codes from Chevy to Ford. Has anyone created a spreadsheet etc... to quickly match wire color codes?

For example:

-Chevy right front turn signal is Dk. Blue, on a Ford it will be Grn/Wht.

I have PDF color sheet from Painless to do matching manually, but wanted to save some time if someone has done this already.

If anyone has not done this, I am creating an excel spreadsheet to do it. By the way the way, Hot Rod Wires offers 24x7 support on this project, but they do not have documentation on wiring color code matching.

thanks,

In the event you are successful, please do post that spreadsheet. Im in the process of pulling a 93 5.0 to put into a 1970 Ford 1/2 ton. Not being the electrical :help: one and having more time than money, I am interested in your discovery

I re-wired my 69 and used Quik Wire to do mine. I have all the documentation, diagrams, color codes. I don't know if they are similar. I do know when it came to the collumn I had to use my trusty wiring diagram for a 1969 f100,250,550. I can scan it and send it to you if it will help.
