Short circut test???

Post by Orange Beezy »

I read somewhere to test for a short circut disconnect the neg battery cable hook up a test light one end to the battery the other to the neg battery cable,if it lights up theres a short. Then start unplugging connectors until the light goes out and thats where the short circut is.

Well i did this test and when i unplugged the two pin connector for the turn signal switch the test lamp went out. I am trying to find out why my truck will not start. I have a Pertronix setup in the dizzy, and not getting any spark to the plugs. I recently replaced the cap, rotor and plugs because the truck was not running well. The eng is a 390 with auto trans.
