Re: ignition
Sounds like power to the ignition module is dropping off when your cranking. Probably hooked it to the wrong wire. should be easy to fix. wipers and radio drop off during crank so your probably hooked to something like that. put that **** back in way better than points. What engine do you have?

Re: ignition
When you say bypassed, would I have to run a new wire, if so what gauge, and does the resistor wire need to be removed?

Re: ignition
If the electronic system requires full 12 volts the stock wire can either be removed and replaced with a normal wire or you can just run another wire along side it but thats kinda sloppy.Orange Beezy wrote:When you say bypassed, would I have to run a new wire, if so what gauge, and does the resistor wire need to be removed?Kurt Combs wrote:Does the new electronic system require a full 12 volts? Re: ignition
The po of my truck installed a 73 460 with a duraspark ignition and actually got away with leaving the resistor wire intact. Stumbled upon the 6.8 volts to the coil by accident and thought it was strange that it wasn't 12. Truck still ran fine. Installing MSD package soon so will change it all up then.
