powermaster mini starter with headers
I just wanted to post this up so no one makes the same mistake I did. I have a 68 f250 2wd with a 390 I just built and a c6 auto tranny. I decided to go with the flowtech headers and install them. After frying 2 starters in 6 months I decided to go with the powermaster Master Torque mini starter, however no matter which way I clock the starter it will NOT fit. The starter either runs into the block or the headers. So my solution is to wrap the headers which I did yesterday and then I bought a racing starter blanket for a new stock starter. I hope this works because if I have to change this starter again, I am going to pull my hair out!!!!! So don't go making the same mistake I did and if someone else had a different experience with this same install please let me know how you got it to work! Other wise I have the powermaster which is brand new with a few scuffs from install and removal that I will sell for 150 firm plus shipping. PM me if interested.

Re: powermaster mini starter with headers
I have the powermaster on my 390, with headman headers. The fit was almost impossible, lot of trial and error, since it has to be removed to clock it, but finally made it happen. I do recall there being a clearance issue on the block, been too long now, so dont exactly remember. I think I had to grind down one of the starters bolts. I also have a starter wrap, just for insurance. I dont drive the truck much, but it has not given me a problem since.
