Me and the daughter likey your work. We've got some similarities goin on with her 67 as well, welded dash, gas filler hole etc. Your motor looks great and those rocker covers are far better looking than any chrome or billet piece in my opinion.

THX Dave and Daughter I've got to repaint them actually, but waiting to do so when I change my Rocker(non-adjust)set up. I prefer just a little "bling" on the motor..

Re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins.Doors&fenders..Last of the sheet m
These Pic's are over a week old now....couldn't get on the site(I'm dyin ova ER)again
I got the trim off the fender and welded in the holes
My other fenders along with my door skin.....A great trip to Mac's also I must say
The next couple of pics are whats left of the doors I'm using
Had to fix the same spot on both doors and a liitle more effort was required on the one
So I thought I would build up my inventory as there for the doors

On the door skins, see how much it'll cost a shop to wrap them for you. I failed to get the seam to wrap nice and it certainly looks like a simple job. I know there are tools out there so it might be simplest to do the fitting and prep work and let someone who does it for a living to skin it over.

The doors are done...wrapped that is,not done by any means. That part turned out good....it took some time and a few different tools...crimpers,body hammer and dolly, some cuttin and heating. I used 3m panel adhesive to secure. My biggest problem is the "cheapness"of the repop panels.....I'll be trying to heat and shrink the metal to get the form into themRanchero50 wrote:On the door skins, see how much it'll cost a shop to wrap them for you. Re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins.Doors&fenders..Last of the sheet m
Oh boy do I understand that.
I had a friend (BOCES instructor) re-skin 2 doors and they were so bad I didn't use them.
I will never do that again.

Re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins.Doors&fenders..Last of the sheet m
Good deal. That was one of the low spots on my build, taking the time to get the skins and then dinking them and ending up with a wavy wrap. I was both pissed and discussed at the results. Couldn't polish that turd so I found another set, then another better set...

Re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins.Doors&fenders..Last of the sheet m
Well I just started work on my other house I needed to get the water line done to the new well and dig up the foundation as well. The water line is done and backfilled up to the foundation and waiting on the drainage tile and stone. I've got 250' of tile and 40ton of stone....a drainage ditch full of water and my backhoe decided to puke it's main hydraulic line 90' into the process of getting to daylight It took sometime to remove this line...while being stuck where I was digging, because ain't nothin moving without hydraulic fluid The joys of owning a backhoe My new line(waiting on parts)should be done this am and I can get my machine back together and start digging again ,but it still leaves me days behind on everything......including my truck which is at the bottom of the list right now
