Gas gauge...???

I just installed a new fuel gauge in the fuel tank...now it dosen't work at all. Before when tank was full it only showed
a 1/2 tank...I took it back out of the tank,hooked up the wires and it works...W T H am I doin wrong??? :x :?

Stupid question but I have to ask...
You did put the float back on the end of the arm didn't you? The float doesn't sound or feel like it has gas in it does it? Make sure your ground to the sending unit is good. Then maybe go to the IPVR, (if the 67 model has it-I'm sorry i can't remember) and adjust it. It's part#10804 on the back of the instrument panel in this image:

Thanks for the info...now its working...it wasn't floating in the gas tank for some reason..si I took the old float and put it on the new unit and the D#$^* thing is working now....
