It's easy... took me about 30 minutes total.

You'll need to pull off the steering wheel (15/16-inch socket). Check the color codes on the wires and match them up to yours. My replacement switch was colored different from the OEM switch but it was just a matter of matching the new wire colors to the old colored wires. Also, make a drawing of the plug and note which pin position corresponds with which wire. In essence, I had to translate the new colors with the old colors.

Before pulling the switch and wires up through the column, I looped and wrapped a nylon cord around the wires so I could have something to fish the new wires back down the column. Wrap it with electrical tape to provide a slick surface. Avoid using cotton cord because it is weak and prone to breaking. With the nylon cord fished through, loop it through the bundle of new wires and then wrap it with tape. Taper the end so it is shaped like a pencil so it is easier to snake down the tube. I lubed the electrical wire with some dielectric grease and pulled down the column. It got stuck a couple of times because of a slight angle just past the bulbed part of the column. A sharp tug and she was free. .. push the pins into the corresponding positions, plug it in, test the switch functions, and reinstall the steering wheel. Done.

I just bought a '68 turn signal switch last week but I will no longer need it since I'm getting a steering column from a '73 with a different style switch. The switch works, I have it installed now. It is brand new (besides me installing it).

I can sell it to you for $35, that'll include the shipping too.

Let me know!

[EDIT]

You can see the switch (and read about why I'm getting a new column) here: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 15#p589975

Did mine from dennis carpenter in the truck no trouble just had to update to the later model wiring. You also need a good steering wheel puller.
