67 F-100
Well, this is one of those "I wish I didn't have to ask" questions. I am installing the rubber seals on my front fenders. There are three types, two of which clip in with plastic bolts and a third that requires staples. I got in the one that runs veritically on the outermost cab-meets-fender surface (fender to cab seal) and I see how to get the one on that goes horizontally across the top (fender to hood hinge seal) but I can't figure out if the third, the one with staples (inner fender to cowl). The staples that are left over from what used to be there indicate they should be attached on the engine compartment side of the inner fender with the staples piercing the rubber, then on through the inner fender. It makes more sense that they would go the other way though. Can someone take a look at your truck and let me know. Thanks.

I had the same dilema with my 68 custom cab.Use the old seals,or buy new ones.I figured since I replaced the inners, rad support, and repaired fenders, why go through the same problem again with the rust.Pretty near every truck has rusted inners/hood hinges. Was a bad system to begin with as far as protection from rust.Anyways,I went to the local pick a part, and bought some Plastic inner wheel wells from a 73-79 f-100,$5.00 a peice.Their a little long in length, but install them beginning at the rear of fender, and you will have to cut approx 6" off the front. These will save your front cab mounts from the water/rusting. Worked exc. for me.

Thanks. I was at the wrecking yard the other day and saw an apron with seals attached and they were on the outside so I did it that way. I used the stuff from Dennis Carpenter. Here's some photos:

Nice job.I would still consider picking up a set of the 73-79 f-100 plastic inners. If this is a daily driver, and you plan on keeping it.Your going to get water, winter road salt in their.its inevitable.Looks good though, nice work.

I agree that your solution is better for protection and is preferable. I'm in Tucson, however, and don't worry about the winter stuff. I think these are pretty good reproductions of the originals though.

Jor,
How did you end up attaching the new seals? Mine were originally stapled...
