LED's
I installed some blue LED's in my instrument cluster tonight. The pics aren't all that great but their alot brighter than the pics show. Thought I'd show.

I got them off ebay last week and they just plug into the original 194 bulb sockets. I guess their polarized or something so if they don't work one way u just turn them around. I have the white face guage kit also so it was brighter to begin with. I think adding the led's might be brighter in white but the blue is a different effect. Hard to explain.Nope no sanding , what is that supposed to do? I also painted the indicators florecensent orange when I was in there a while back and they almost glow in there it's cool. Now I need to get into the heater controls and change that bulb out for a total effect. If anyone is interested in buying bulbs I found them here.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... I am thinking of doing this and the white guages. How many bulbs do I need for the guages and heater as well? Thanks.

Doug welcome.
For just instument gauges you need 2 LED's for the turn signals there are 2 more. As for the heater bulb it's a different size a 1445 I found an LED that replaces those also and ordered it should be here soon. Mine in the pics is with the white face gauges also and all 4 LED's. Definately a neat upgrade. I was even thinking of buying a set of green and a set of red to decide what I liked better, But blue being a ford color I might just stick with it.

re: LED's
After driving my daughter's pickup down to CA, mostly at night, with the new LED's and white faced gauges... my only advice to everyone is to make sure the dimmer rheostat on the light switch works!! They get pretty bright in the middle of the night!

re: LED's
I agree John I don't think I'd ever go back to stock look unless it was an original restore on one of these trucks. I am really happy with the outcome on mine. Like I said before I ordered an LED bulb that replaces the 1445 in the heater controls and i got it last week. Well you guessed it's the WRONG one and I have to find another that will work because the one white face in the truck is driving me nuts.
