turn signal issue
1971 f100. all rear lights work except driver side brake light and turn signal. i cant figure out why they wont work. the front driver side blinker light flashes and the light in the instrument cluster flashes. ive tested the wires and im not getting power under the dash to the wire that runs to the back. there is a plug that connects the steering culumn wires that the wire to the back runs into and its not getting power but i dont know which wire is supposed to feed it. will it work if i just hook a wire that is hot when ignition is on? need help. thanks

Re: turn signal issue
the hot wire comes out of the turn signal switch to feed the brake lights and turn signal. the power comes from the brake light switch into the turn signal switch. you probably have a bad turn signal switch.

Re: turn signal issue
The power for the Turn Signals goes from the Flasher to the Turn Signal Switch and then is distributed to the lights, the front half of the truck is separate from the back as the Turn Signals use the same element (bulb) as the brake light. The power for the brake light comes from the fuse box to through the brake light switch to the TSS.
Most common problem is the TSS for the issue you are having, check the Yellow/black striped wire out of the column when you apply the brakes or the Lft turn, if you have no power there doing this then the TSS is the problem.
