Replacement alternator...

Post by sublimer »

I still have the factory alternator in my truck, but I think it's time that it goes...

I was curious, what is the amperage of the original alternator?

Are any of these any good as a replacement?

Factory would have been either 37 amp or 42 amp.

It should be stamped into the case (assuming it hasn't been replaced).

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

I changed mine to a 1 wire 130A. I didn't have a problem with it. I needed it to use a 1000W inverter. Try to figure what you will use or add in the future.
