pin out on the ignition switch.

Post by conandaman »

Howdy all, I'm looking for the pin out of the ignition switch for my 67 SWB stepside, the previous owner dropped a Chev 350 and turbo 350 in it and changed the ignition, i'm trying to restore/resto-mod and would like to use the original ignition switch with the chev engine. Any help or nudges in the right direction would be appreciated. I just looked at the wiring diagrams on the site here and the switch is not a 67 switch... no center lug, it appears the same as a 70-72 switch. all round connectors.

Cheers

here is the main page to all the wiring diagrams. http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_h.htm most of the pin outs are in there is you follow the lines. if i understand what you mean abou tround connectors. then you have a 68 /69 ignition switch with the bullet connectors in it. the 70-72 will have spade connectors in it. i hope this helps. you may want to make sure the ignition switch and wiring are fine. he may have just cut the resistor wire to use the chevy hei dist. instead of the points dist. so you may only need to replace the resistor wire. to get it back to original. also the cab could even be a 68 but the title and 67. i dont know. or mayeb he just did a complete wiring swap in the cab so now you have a 68 /69 harness and it doesnt need messed with.

it is the bullet connectors, and yeah the title is 67, but cab ect is 68+, as for wiring harness, its a fuse block thats jerry rigged. i'll attempt to follow the schematics, n see if i can make head's or tails of my wiring mess. Thanks , i'll post more if i remain frazzled. with more detail of my problem(s)
